Integrating Structural Biology into the Biocatalytic Workflow
Abstract:
Our work is focused on the production of value-added compounds and molecules of interest using enzymatic strategies. These approaches can be advances by incorporating structural biological methods into the biocatalytic workflow. Examples of some successful applications of this approach will be discussed.
Speakers’ bio:
Satish K. Nair earned his BSc in Chemistry from Brown University, followed by Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania under the mentorship of David Christianson. After completing a postdoctoral fellowship with Stephen K. Burley at The Rockefeller University, supported by the Leukemia Society of America, Dr Satish joined the faculty at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2001. He was appointed the Director of the Centre for Biophysics & Quantitative Biology program in 2018 and became Head of the Department of Biochemistry in 2020.
